I am happy to finally announce the release of #Snakemake 8.0! In about half a year, we have modernized large parts of the code base. Most importantly, Snakemake 8.0 introduces a versatile plugin system, redesigned support for external storage, and modernized documentation. @johanneskoester @vsoch Congratulations! I have been a user of Snakemake since nearly the beginning (have to admit that not much, lately), and I have always thought it is an amazing tool. I always recommend it and spread the word wherever I go.
