Leaving Dublin is going to be weird. It's been the stage for my adult life, career, marriage and little family. Now the compulsion is to savour. Like taking a deep breath when you hug someone goodbye. The good takeaways, the pubs, the Botanics. The walk to the café.

There's a chance of panic. Why am I going somewhere that's not at the same level for these things which suddenly mean so much to me? And then you catch yourself. It wasn't 20 years of hugs, was it?

@davey_cakes May the road rise to meet you, and the wind be always at your back… Wherever you are going you take the gift of expressing yourself through writing with you. That could well be the opening paragraph of a decent novel.

@lavenderlens well that's a lovely thing to hear on all fronts. Thank you. This project has brought out the best in me to be honest. It's amazing what we can do when we leave the battleground and take the armour off.

@davey_cakes that’s an analogy that’s gonna stick in my head! Good luck to you.
