What does it MEAN??

"I'm the guy that took the ants out the giants."

Is this about football? Is this anti-NY agitation?

Personally I'd rather be "the girl who put the ants in the giants" not that I know what that means either.

Boy I hope this isn't some dirty joke that went over my head. (happens a lot. please don't laugh)

@futurebird It might be a baseball thing. The San Francisco Giants were the New York Giants until 1957, I think (the same time the Brooklyn Dodgers became the Los Angeles Dodgers). Something WWII-related sounds plausible?

@futurebird Hmm, I found some of them on Etsy, with this description: “Funny 1910s Perfection/Chesterfield Advertising Pinback Button. These 7/8 inch pinbacks were advertisements for various cigarette companies.” (Don't know what this phrase has to do with cigarettes.) At the time, the NY Giants were a baseball team (they moved to San Francisco in the 50s)?

@dgoldsmith @futurebird Still don’t know what this particular one means (tho baseball seems likely), but poking around revealed a bit more detail about the ad campaign. hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/9 Apparently “I’m the guy that…” was from a Rube Goldberg bit.
