We have a death cult in this country. It's horrifying and should be a major scandal. Every candidate for federal elected office should be asked about this constantly.

I'm a climate doomer, because I know that no progress on the climate can happen unless black voting rights in the US get sorted. And we aren't even paying attention to the Black voting problem, let alone close to solving it.

There is no path to making meaningful progress on climate change that doesn't go through Black people in the US getting to vote. None. The fact that we still can't accept this, is why I'm not optimistic about our chances to do anything meaningful about the climate.

The #barbie movie is everything, go see it, etc., but on reflecting today: there’s something profoundly distressing in the fact that you can make a movie explicitly criticizing the Mattel corporation, indeed corporate America writ large as a vector of patriarchal power and greed, producing and reproducing subjugation, and Mattel will fund your movie because that power is so untouchable, so entrenched, that the movie is simply going to result in more profit

@ellotheth We do it for that fleeting moment of power and euphoria when all pieces fall in place and everything works.

Being in development is being crackheads in search of our next fix.

“For the horrors of the American Negro’s life,” wrote James Baldwin in 1962, “there has been almost no language.” The history is clear. America gave Black Americans nothing. What freedom we have was earned through blood, toil, grit, perseverance, & courage. After the deadliest insurrection in American history, Black-New Yorkers rebuilt their lives, shaped their destinies & contributed to the ongoing freedom struggle..

@Amy tl;dr: Remove 'Mac' as a supported platform for the iOS app. (Setting 'Mac (Mac Catalyst)' or 'Mac (Designed for iPad)' for the iOS app build target Supported Destinations works.)

@Amy FB12414226 should have some comments on it for you. :-)

That's how many parking spaces there are in the USA. For every car? About 4 empty spaces... just sitting there, not absorbing the rain, making flooding worse, making cities hotter as they bake in the summer sun.

Our built environment and laws bend over backwards to make driving the only viable transportation option in nearly every imaginable context.

You need to pay for healthcare, but almost never parking.

(Pointing this out makes libertarian heads explode.)

"Wesleyan University, a liberal arts college in Connecticut, is ending legacy admissions, which give a leg up to the children of alumni, just weeks after the Supreme Court struck down affirmative action.

After the Supreme Court decision, legacy admissions came under heavy attack because the practice tends to favor white, wealthy applicants over Black, Hispanic, Asian American and Native American students"

If SFMTA, Mayor Breed, and the Board of Supervisors want to increase safety and reduce roadway deaths, they must create a connected network of protected bike lanes and Slow Streets with traffic diverters / modal filters to get more people to shift trips from cars to active modes.
