Is there a part of Fedi that's pro-free speech, isn't full of computer programmers, and still has actual discussion?

The fedi is still a niche place not many people know about it would know about. If you want to change the demographics, you'll have to help promote it.

@promethea tbh I don't think most internet users like each other. I also don't think most non-internet users would be willing to use something that requires more than a few clicks to join.
Depending on your priorities, it might be better if you either have up fedi and joined non-net, kept fedi and came to terms, or alternatively change your experience with interacting with users in general.
my experiencing with interacting with users on here is mostly "making spinsters and FSEs absolutely flip their shit"
so i probably could stand to change my approach there
