I'm re-reading @stephenking's The Stand right now and a thing that really amuses me is that this novel that has sold a hundred jillion copies and is widely beloved repeatedly breaks EVERY. SINGLE. RULE. that agents, publishers, & other writers (including King!) tell you matters.
