@promethea tbh I don't think most internet users like each other. I also don't think most non-internet users would be willing to use something that requires more than a few clicks to join.

Depending on your priorities, it might be better if you either have up fedi and joined non-net, kept fedi and came to terms, or alternatively change your experience with interacting with users in general.

The fedi is still a niche place not many people know about it would know about. If you want to change the demographics, you'll have to help promote it.

Creating dependencies allows resource holders to make demands.

In your insinuating example, by creating a need for confession of actions within spiritual doctrine- a communities actions are thus demanded in exchange for what is being held within the doctrines outlines.

There are many, many communities out there with just as many diverse focuses. These targets are only as vulnerable as the people who populate it.

Be a smart member of your community- whatever that is- and protect yours(and others!) Personal information. Privacy is fought on all fronts, help spread the word and work together to protect your rights!
