Totally agree. I didn't mean to imply that cashless is good. Just that it is impossible to live in this country with only cash.
I think all banks have signs; "We don't accept cash payments or cash deposits." and only bigger retailers have cash deposit arrangements with security firms and regional (not local) bank branches not available to everyone else.
Many pubs and restaurants don't accept cash.

A bank with a "no cash deposits" is a contradiction in terms. A bank by definition is a place where you deposit cash money

Yeah...Started a king time ago. More than 10 years ago, my sister sold a horse and got paid in cash, a few thousand dollars. Came to bank and they refused to accept it, since she didn't have a paper trail of where the cash was withdrawn.
Downhill from there.

If a bank does not accept or handle cash, what good is it?
In my experience, small and casual transactions are decidedly inconvenient except with cash. And that goes double when one is a visitor to a country, and not connected to the banking system there.
Maybe Swedes don't have yard sales, or roadside produce stands? My total experience with Sweden consists in arriving at Stockholm by ferry from Helsinki, and getting on the train to Copenhagen.
In the process, though, I did buy something at a shop in the Stockholm railway station, and some food on the train.
Small transactions between people happen over something called "Swish".
Even really tiny stores use that, rather than credit card terminals, and now imagine tourists...
I think it is a disaster, but just about every Swede (below 70 years old) loves it.
Heard yesterday that the last ATM in the village I live has been removed. Was placed in the supermarket, but no more.
@lupyuen Poor skimmers in Sweden, they will soon be out of work and have to live on social welfare.... ATMs are almost completely gone. Cash is practically nonexistent.
