Not constructive, but perhaps realistic.
Hamas is sworn to end the state of Israel, terming its very existence as an “occupation” and to replace it with an Islamic state.
If their aims are hardly encouraging for a lasting peace with a nation recognised by the UN, their methods are clearly genocidal.
The great shame is that only the warmongers (on both sides) are likely to flourish given recent events.
@chowderman @SeekingDuck @noelreports and then there is the West Bank. It would be smart to keep that separate from Hamas, but the response is also attacking these... as was the barely provoked aggression in the last months

“Keeping the lid on” is a common English phrase that means “to control a situation very carefully, especially so that it does not cause problems”.
Innocent people are being slaughtered in Israel and you bleat when Israeli and Palestinian authorities try and keep the peace.

All the Arabs militants are piling in now they have smelt Jewish blood.
There is aggression from every direction with Israeli solders being shot at.
Don’t underestimate the threat from the West Bank or other directions, very difficult for Israel to try and keep a lid on when there is blood in the water.
