Everything wrong with tech in 2023 (in no particular order)
1. The obsession with short-term profits severely undermines long-term positive impact.
2. The lack of diversity among founders and investors propagates harmful exclusion.
3. The prevalence of poor work-life balance and burnout culture is inhumane and unsustainable.
4. Too many products optimized for addiction show callous disregard for user well-being.
…And more.

@Daojoan these are all direct effects of capitalism on technology. This list is a critique of the economic system rather than technology itself.
@unexpectedteapot @Daojoan the economic system has a much richer history, including allowing for cooperatives, commons in general and FOSS in particular
@mapto @unexpectedteapot @Daojoan We need more of this all around. I would like to see changes to our legal framework to incentivise cooperatives.
@hosford42 @unexpectedteapot @Daojoan and I've lived in a world where capitalism was the enemy. They said they are communists, but they were just authoritarians. They had even invented the term "dictatorship of the proletariat". This is the main difference: pluralism and who tolerates diversity
@unexpectedteapot @hosford42 @Daojoan good point, thank you. In fact, Aaron did elaborate later that he'd appreciate more commons and cooperatives within a similar system
