If you want to understand where a very large swathe of "AI" research and development are, today, then you very seriously need to engage with religious studies and mythology — and understand that I don't mean "mythology" in the pejorative sense of "falseness" or "fantasy;" I mean it in the sense of "animating beliefs," or "fundamental guiding narrative."

The fact that the huge majority of LLM research fails on transparency and reproducibility is a bell too many decide not to hear ringing. There is too much faith, and too little scrutiny. Ah, this might be what this thread is all about :/
