Google's war on ad-blockers continues! Google will slow down the update process for third-party extensions by requiring them to be reviewed by the Chrome Web Store. 🚫
This means YouTube can counter ad-blockers while slowing their release of workarounds. 🤢
This David and Goliath situation looks to be even more unbalanced than previously thought.

@Tutanota None of this is surprising. What stinks is that for some workflow and specific sites I still need Chrome and that will likely not change. 🙁 However for Youtube and other googley products, Firefox + extensions + PiHole works great currently.
@hexxy_the_grouch @Tutanota I haven't used PiHole, so I'm curious: how difficult is it to enable ads for a particular website or on a one-off basis? Thanks!
@hexxy_the_grouch @Tutanota but to enable all ads on a website, I'd need to temporarily whitelist all domains where the ads potentially come from. And this will not be in the context of the website at all. I'm not trying to downplay how useful it is. I just think it's for a different use case
@mapto @Tutanota You are not wrong. I view it more as a 'defense in depth' approach. For the most part, after I set up the PiHole, I keep the application and the Linux install patched and I forget about it. Every blue moon, I run into something that just won't work and after jiggling the handle on NoScript and uBlock, I'll look at the PiHole query log. Open it up long enough to do what I need, and close the door when I'm done. Oddly, Discord tends to be the the problem thing. 🤷
