I am sorry to break out the news to you, but #copyright is essentially done. Done, as in D.O.N.E. It has been for the last 20-something years, and blaming it on #LLMs and #AI tools alone is playing an ostrich with its head in the sand.
You can still be the official author of your creation and make a ton of profit from it, but protectng it from the world is a losing game. Someone else will be more open than you, and all you'll end up with is ... well, your empty rigths.
Embrace it and adapt!
I, for one, don't care if a bunch of AI crawlers scrape and make sense of my content. The same way I never cared about Google scraping my content. If my content was found good enough to be scraped, I actually take it as a compliment. And all that will come back in my favor one day - sooner or later.
So yeah, I don't care.
@preslavrachev isn't this about equal access? That people have access to knowledge the same way corporate machines do?
PS: I don't consider myself to the left, rather share some ideas with the pirate party
@mapto that's what I mean - in a few months to a couple of years, OpenAI's core competence will diminish. There are literally hundreds of competitor open-source LLMs out there now. If people started using those as their personal chatbot assistants, would it make a difference?
