@mapto I don't know. Why is generation Y called what it is? I mean Millennials makes sense since it names a time period. Why is generation Z called that? It's just a name. I didn't come up with it. Some of generation X was born in the late 60s. Boomers makes sense because of the post war baby boom. The Silent Generation, my grandparents, they weren't all that quiet. World War 2 was pretty damn noisy, so were Korea and Vietnam which they caused.
