I became a vegetarian for both health and moral reasons around 6 months ago. I already saw meat as morally questionable. I was too lazy and selfish to stop though. The health problems gave me the extra nudge I needed.

I had the same leather wallet in my pocket for almost 2 years and today it needed a replacement. I decided that since I don't eat animals, using their skins for clothing items without a genuine need is inexcusable. I found a wallet made of faux leather.

I still own a leather jacket that I bought at a second hand store and some leather boots. I am not throwing them away, but when it comes time to replace them it won't be with products made from animals.

@KawaTora I'm with you on this. Yet, in the end, leather is probably still better than plastic. Anyway, I guess recycled is what wins. Sorry for the idle thoughts

@mapto I am with you on hating plastic, single use plastic especially. It shouldn't be used to make disposable food and drink containers or shopping bags. There may be some argument for using it to make things that are intended to be permanent or semi-permanent like drain pipes, furniture, clothing, and shelter.
