@kristinHenry forgive my ignorance but what is CW?
Tesla was just ranked last by German TÜV (they certify anything from appliances to cars and power plants).
"For the first time, the Tesla Model 3 is also included, as there are now enough vehicles and therefore reliable figures available.
And the electric car pioneer promptly lands in last place […] The TÜV experts' complaints about the Tesla Model 3 were highest for lighting, brakes and axles."
@andymouse @kellerkind71 @msteenhagen here's someone else reflecting on whether one could speak of genocide in this context. They do have credentials of expertise and do reach quite different conclusions https://qoto.org/@mapto/111398309349507000
@scanlime @luftlesen it's my default search engine and I love it. You can share links to searches and know that others get the same results you see. Of course I often use it with commands, and of course !g, !gi, !gn are among them. But so are !wen, !wordnet, !wordreference, !yf and so many others. I personally also use !eit, !docker, !wit, !gnuk,... I love it!

@Remittancegirl @craftycat I don't think "bigotted" is the correct word for telling people one doesn't know what they should do, or for accusing them of "joining the Nazi party" when they make different choices about technology. But you do make an important point
@Remittancegirl sorry, I'm just saying many people around me don't care about your problems and I understand them. Forgive me if that's patronising
@craftycat @Remittancegirl try to find a fuckin tesla in Bulgaria. You really have no idea, do you
@Remittancegirl with respect, I don't think you understand the point. In Bulgaria people know owners of social media are rich. That's pretty much last they heard of the topic you have so close to your heart (yes, to you it might appear unrelated, but people don't even care when elections in the US are due). Try to understand them, you don't know anything about the struggles in Bulgaria either. And Bulgaria is part of the EU, other places have even less to do with Western politics. In many countries politics is a topic that could get you into trouble. Why would you disconnect from friends for things at the other end of the world
@Remittancegirl keep in mind that outside of the English-speaking world, social networks are not political machines, but ways to keep in touch with distant friends. I see plenty of people who don't care about Zuckerberg or Musk... or politics in the US and Europe

LBJ nailed it when he said "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."
For me Signal is simply yet another FOSS service to be sustained because it's not sustained by advertising. To others, it is the only secure way to reveal criminal practices. It is certainly worth a small monthly donation

@mimsical trust vs truth. An interesting dichotomy...
@TruthSandwich @lolonurse @wdlindsy @jann I love it how systematically denying agency to the most powerful actor in the region is not defending him. Or is "Every Palestinian killed by Israel has Hamas to blame" something different from denying agency to Netanyahu? As in, isn't he the one that ensured sustained funding of Hamas over the years?
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=netanyahu+hamas+support&ia=web
@Properganda @anubis2814 @randahl both sides show genocidal intent. Yes, Hamas does it more violently. Israel knows to be more careful in its appearance, but even before October this year has been the most violent one, with Palestinian victims being much more, and with West Bank being under continuous pressure by armed settlers with documented government and military support
@lolonurse @TruthSandwich @wdlindsy @jann and before someone jumps into straw arguments, here's my derived summary of this article
https://qoto.org/@mapto/111398309349507000
@lolonurse @TruthSandwich @wdlindsy @jann this is not about what he does, but how he does it. And how he does it reveals genocidal intent https://newlinesmag.com/spotlight/the-uses-and-abuses-of-the-term-genocide-in-gaza/
@TruthSandwich @gavinisdie @randahl I suppose you know that to make a valid argument you need to provide evidence for it. If you want to negate a claim about Netanyahu (it's not the people of Israel, but its leadership that makes these decisions, as well as the decisions to stand by them once confirmed), you don't talk about what Hamas does. If one side commits atrocities, it doesn't mean the other doesn't. In fact it does
