I think I'm going to watch a movie about a dystopian future to distract me from the dystopian present.
@PinkCamoTo yeah I used to love dystopian fiction, but anymore it's too depressing.
@mynameisnate @PinkCamoTo Sometimes it can be comforting if the dystopia is set before or during our time but is a) implausible and b) way, way, worse than our time actually is.

@mynameisnate @PinkCamoTo Then again, I also think we have too much dystopian fiction and not enough utopian fiction.
I want to see people propose positive visions of the future and showing how we might get there. Drawing dark futures and simply saying "don't end up like this" doesn't seem to be working out.
