They started covering the bigger cities in Germany, but there are fairly strict privacy laws there and too many people started complaining.
Google had to manually censor individual buildings and eventually gave up entirely. The few cities covered in Germany still show image data from 2008.
Keep getting loud. Public pressure works. There are people protesting to the Postmater General right now.
Call your Congressperson. Call your 2 Senators. Congressional Switchboard: 202- 224-3121. Tell them to fund the Post Office. The Postal Service is not a tool of any political party and it must not be treated as such.

The Postal Service will stop removing mailboxes. The agency said it would stop removing the boxes nationally until after the election.

Your voice matters. Your choices matter. Sharing your feelings, on privacy, in a compassionate way will help turn the tide to create a better internet.
A perfect internet? Never.
That should not be our goal. Perfection is subjective and the enemy of success.
A better internet? Absolutely!
Let your network know that you've decided to switch to services that do not invade your privacy. Do so without making them feel dumb or that it's a nonsensical conspiracy.
The Mozilla layoff is terrible - not only for the former workers, but also the web at large.
If we are concerned about the future of a more private & secure web, without a monopoly - we might want to double-down on our support of Mozilla to ensure that more people keep their jobs.
Being vocal about the direction of #Firefox & #Mozilla to appropriate channels is surely needed - less Google & more innovation.
Let's work to oust any leadership without the vision we all need for a better web.
Thousands of arrests and a good dose of police brutality in Belarus during the protests.
As a EU citizen, I would like the EU to support the people of Belarus against Lukashenko's dictatorship. ✌️
If anyone knows more about the nature and dynamics of the protests right now, you are more than welcome to share some insight.

Omg the sheen even comes up on my needlepoint modified spencerian pen. I have never been able to get an ink to sheen with this pen before!
This ink is teal base with red sheen but the teal is so dark its almost black. So depending on thr angle you hold the paper it looks like its black or a reflective reddish.
I think i officially have a new favorite ink brand!

So there's this Reddit alternative called Ruqqus that has been gaining popularity recently. Unlike the Twitter clone Parler, Ruqqus actually has a different structure than Reddit; furthermore, unlike Reddit, it is open source.
Does anyone have any experience with Ruqqus, and if so, what do you have to say about it?
That thing about masks
@cypnk
Depressingly, my mother has gone from being pro-Banksy and anti-Bush whilst in London in the late 2000's to looking at me funny and asking why people are so paranoid about mass surveillance upon me reading your toot to her today in the year 2020..
That thing about masks
Gait analysis, clothing analysis, eye framing etc... these are all valid points of concern for protecting your identity, but masks are still a golden opportunity to reduce the effectiveness public mass surveillance
There's no on/off switch for privacy. All mitigations are layers which increase combined effectiveness
If you dislike wearing masks, consider that it costs you little in terms of inconvenience and there are other benefits besides health and safety

@Sphinx
The person writing the multiple choice answers conflated "factual statement" and "true statement". Interesting how inept some of these writers are.
@lordalveric I should probably write a response to this when I can, but I am a bit busy at the moment.
