@atyh The closest thing to a charitable explanation I have is that the tanks have been spotted in a very few cities (probably because they are still being deployed), and the blood has yet to spill. "If it bleeds, it leads", and it's not leading because it's not bleeding (yet).
Despite my money being on that explanation, it's still a media fuckup on a massive scale; the explanation merely replaces malice with incompetence and laziness. It's fucking damning this isn't more widely covered by legacy news.
@mgeist If the thing that ends up saving the people of Canada from those dratted bills is a trade agreement challenge, I'm going to die from being weirded out by this timeline.

Jiang zemin, the chairman of #china from 1993 to 2003, died today. As one of the most liberal figures inside CCP, he supported marketing reform and promoted joining WTO. Additionally, he guaranteed a certain degree of expression freedom. Those ten years when he was incumbent became the best golden old days for us to mourn after PRC’s establishment. After 2008, China witnessed a severe regression in civil liberty and became more belligerent in the global community.

"The first drug to slow the destruction of the brain in Alzheimer's has been heralded as momentous and historic.
The research breakthrough ends decades of failure and shows a new era of drugs to treat Alzheimer's - the most common form of dementia - is possible.
Yet the medicine, lecanemab, has only a small effect and its impact on people's daily lives is debated.
And the drug works in the early stages of the disease, so most would miss out without a revolution in spotting it."
