Reading #girlwithapearlearring (finally) and I am so impressed with the writing style of #TracyChevalier.
She paints a picture with her simple sentences that floats you through the book.
Her characters build the story themselves simply by looking at each other in a certain way. It captures my attention on every page with effortless reading, and now and then one sentence will stand out as if it is illuminated on the page - how she does this I do not know. These sentences outline hints towards the end outcome for the main character so you can glide through the book, absorbing it rather than studying it, like a boat tour around a beautiful island.
It’s a simple - clever book which has reminded me exactly why I love to read.
