Biggest gripe with Mastodon so far, the word-limit. I tend to prattle on, so I didn't care for Twitter. My FB posts routinely run a thousand words or more, which may not be a virtue, but I prefer writing novels to short-short stories.
@steveperry evidently qoto.org has a much larger character limit. @medigoth can you confirm that, please?
@lverner @steveperry Yes, that's correct: 60k characters per post, which of course is much larger than any post I'm likely to want to make. That was one of the features that drew me to it, along with Markdown support.
@steveperry @medigoth @lverner I'm planning to stand up next week, but yes, I recommended QOTO to a few people, after I made the mistake of signing up on MSTDN myself. No disrespect to the people running MSTDN, it's a fine server. But I didn't know what I was doing.
