Mastodon has some brilliant tweaks to former SM platforms. The whole system is designed to block abusive behaviour, discourage bad behaviour and encourage good behaviour. It's wonderful.

This is the part that can't be emphasised enough. We don't need to do it ourselves. It's already built into the platform. The system is doing that job for us.

It's entirely unnecessary for anyone to be doing any tone policing. If you feel the need to do that, perhaps you should reflect on why.

As a fairly new user on Mastodon, I'm not disrespecting the existing culture.

What I am saying is I'm seeing a lot of posts about what we should and shouldn't talk about, what we should and shouldn't say, and how we should and shouldn't say it.

There is a word for that type of behaviour, and it isn't "etiquette".

When objects are overlapping, it’s handy to use Tab to select shapes. Pressing repeatedly cycles through selecting objects. This works in Google Slides, Google Drawings, PowerPoint, and Keynote.

🤯 My favorite lesson today? Having students analyze a poem for figurative language and author's purpose. They made inferences about the author. I blew 5th graders' minds when I revealed the poem was generated by the A.I. at https://chat.openai.com.
