Now that we're starting to see more impersonation accounts on Mastodon, a reminder that verified websites are a thing. It's not perfect, but implementable at the individual level, and this is how we know for example which of these is the real @stephenfry - and it's not the one with the meaningless checkmark. :)

It’s #FollowFriday so I hope folks utilize the hashtag to find my account here!
Give me a boost! Maybe if I can show some of the big accounts on Twitter that it’s possible to grow sizably and quickly here, too, they’ll migrate over!

Are there any #edutooter friends on post.news? I'm having a difficult time finding any #HigherEducation or #EducationPolicy posters to follow. #Edutooters

Could I tempt you to boost this post, or get involved in a project to customise Linux for users with special needs/learning difficulties? I have two such children. Adults now (18). I want to do something for my boys and for people like them. 🙂❤️

I've already done a bit, using Ansible, with AlmaLinux and Ubuntu: https://github.com/robpomeroy/BrightOS

Please spread the word - I'm sure someone out there would love to get involved!

And now Toot! v17.1 is out, as well!

https://toot.to/

This is the second in a series of releases that implement support for new Mastodon features. More will come in the near future, but this version offers:

* Support for different limits on different servers. Some servers allow longer toots, more attachments, or more poll options.
* Support for editing your toots if your server is on Mastodon 4.0.

Dell with Linux Mint pre-installed. Nice!

Appreciate the community on here @freemo and the @QOTO instance.

There’s so much to be thankful for but I wanna give a special shoutout to the Earth humans that make up the #HubbleSpaceTelescope team (#NASA, #ESA, #STSci @spacetelescope, et al.) for their undying hardwork & diligence.

This beautiful image is a result of such hardwork. One of the most photogenic examples of the many turbulent stellar nurseries the #HST has observed during its 30-year lifetime, this portrait features the giant nebula NGC 2014 & its neighbour NGC 2020. #Astrodon

#edutoot - hey how is everyone affected by the court decision prohibting environmental scanning/videoing of students in their home or surrounding environments prior to them doing online testing to assure no cheating or materials are in their immediate area while they take exams?

So, apparently, creating an #introduction with a lot of relevant hashtags is helpful in connection with people. Long-time #educator and instigator about #change in #education. Interested in #edfutures, #learning, #teaching, #edleadership, #school, and #designfiction among other things. Originator of #schoolpunk (more to come soon on that.) Interested in #bigquestions that drive us to reconsider current #practice and #design a new #educational model.

Hey #GameDev!

I finally completed the writing for my 10 week #GameDesign fundamentals course, so here's the "Cheat Sheets" for each topic in one handy PDF, for anyone else in #academia or #education who might find them useful: https://alanjack.co.uk/uploads/GameDesignCheatSheets.pdf

I've been writing again, this time about the student experience https://www.dontwasteyourtime.co.uk/elearning/the-student-experience/ #StudentExperience #Students #Learning #Education
