Ordered some #mycology potato dextrose agar plates and sadly all but 3 were heavily contaminated. Company has promised to reimburse me for free but I worry that the long travel time might be part of why it's molding. In the meantime, here's a look at what I have to dispose of.

In general I don't think that Mastodon will ever replace or outpace Twitter. Instead, it gives an opportunity for more user-curated experiences for building federated timelines of relevant content with less random discovery. As a tool for academics, artists, etc it seems very useful. I think it will work well as a supplement to Twitter. Users connecting on multiple fronts and establishing webs of like-minded content generation and sharing with the goal of building a network.

My #introduction is that I'm a US academic and geoscience student carrying out research in the field of #mycology. Nothing about me should be comfortable and I believe that art is often transgressive. I hate math. Can't stand it.
