Amanita pachycolea (Western grisette), Pacific coast of northern California. One of the low-risk edible amanitas.

@deepmud I have no issues with these as they are really easy to identify (the lookalikes are all edible grisettes). I stopped eating Amanita velosa, though, for some irrational/psychological reasons - probably because they were initially less obvious to distinguish from some extreme variants of other species.
