Wow, #Google released a patch to convert #Stadia controller into a generic Bluetooth one compatible with Steam and etc. stadia.google.com/controller/

With all refunds issued earlier, that was the most graceful project shutdown I've ever seen

@ido I mean considering everyone knew it was dead the day they announced it, they had plenty of time to plan a smooth shutdown.

@ocdtrekkie @ido I actually bought Cyberpunk 2077 specifically on Stadia to play the meta-game of "Can I finish this cyberpunk interactive fiction before the unaccountable corporation with the exclusive ability to gate my access to this piece of entertainment pulls the plug?"

I have lost that game. ;)

@mtomczak @ido On the bright side you didn't lose the actual game license, I believe.

@ocdtrekkie @ido I haven't bothered to follow up in detail yet (because, tbh, I burned out on wanting to finish the game before I finished it). I think I'll have to repurchase the game on another platform to continue, but there is / will be a way to dump my save state and load it into another instance.

@mtomczak @ido Ah, yeah it doesn't mention game license transfer (for some reason I momentarily associated Cyberpunk with Ubisoft, which is transferring game licenses), just that you can Google Takeout your save file.

I suppose since you get the refund, you're not out anything if you have to rebuy the game on another platform.
