Advice: don't fall for, "it will be really easy to be left behind.”

That's gatekeeping.

Imagine being 10 years old right now, and having some old dude say, “you need to learn [tech of the day] or you'll be left behind.”

It's just not how technology works. You can join at any time, with any past experience, and start learning something new. There's a place for you.

Anyone who says otherwise is trying to keep you out.

@thaddeus @ambulephabus This is true if you with technology in general. If you want to get into a particular wave of technology excitement, it can be possible to be left behind.

However, for about 95% of technology excitement waves, that’s actually a good thing :)
