I think religions give peace, some humans misuse religion and it's those humans who take away peace.
But other humans can have or give peace without religion too

For me(belonging to a specific muslim community) religion is just something which rules over your life, forbids the freedom to even what to wear, what to eat. It just makes life shitty and unbearable.

I'm near your opinion, for me religion only limit thoughts and human's mindgrowing but there is a lot of people who need to believe in something; and have "lows" to know how is good and how is bad and believe that always someone protect them...
I'm very far of this opinion but I know there is a lot of people who need it
