If you reply to a post which is private then by default the reply would also be private unless you intentionally make it public.
Like this reply to your private post is public

Are you using mastodon on a computer with the browser?
@mur2501 @kranfahrer On my iphone in Safari. I could also go on my computer. Is there a way to do it from the phone? I also have the Amaroq App. 🤔 🧩

This is the screenshot from my phone's browser, your's would probably be similar. The globe icon in the first picture is the visibility of the post (globe means it is visible to everyone), if you click on that icon you will get the visibility options seen in the second picture (except the Circle one, that is specific to my instance which is qoto.org).
@mur2501 @kranfahrer It looks like I can only change the audience when I am writing the message. Not after it is posted. Can you do a test and send me a private reply to this, Kranfahrer? Then I can see if I can practice. If I am wrong, and I can change audience once it's posted, then, I can't figure it out right now, looking at it. haha. Thanks a lot.
