In the general sense the south-western tropical rainforest parts of Sri Lanka are just an isolated extension of the Western Ghats of India so hence both house many of the same species of fauna and flora. Many species which are wiped out in India do survive through their cousins in Sri Lanka
(I assume seek lives in the tropical part)
