It's really funny to see how blind Murica was when it came to dealing with communists (like a horny boy seeing a hot girl)
At the same time when CIA was training Afghan terrorists it was also very much thinking to fund and help the cartel of Columbia (includes Pablo Escobar ofcourse) cause of a simple reason: Cartels were killing the Columbian communists (Cocaine is cool but communists NOOO)
It also went against the cartel in full force (ready to fund the whole Columbian army) when they came to know that the cartels were supported communist Nicaragua (indirectly Soviet Union) to get the Cocaine to USA.
