I've been searching the web for over an hour, and while I find the error being reported in lots of places, I'm seeing again and again people reporting slightly different circumstances, and *no one* getting complete answers.
There's a bug, and I don't know what to do about it. I'm hoping someone here can help.
I have an image - foo.png - and I want to resize it and output the result as a jpg - bar.jpg.
For years I have used "convert" to do this:
$ convert foo.png -resize 1024x1024 bar.jpg
@mur2501 I thought of that, and it would seem reasonable, but that turns out not to be the case. With "convert" you don't use a "-o" flag to signal the output file, it simply uses the last filename as the destination.
It's looking like it's just that the input image is too big.
If anyone can provide a more authoritative answer I'd be grateful.
