Yeah that's how advertisement works
@strawberryfieldsforever @mur2501 I used to have a gmail acct but #Google effectively kicked me off. I only ever fetched my msgs over Tor, so Google one day out of the pure blue decided to "protect" my account from myself. I don't recall if Google demanded a mobile phone number to recover my account, but I would not have disclosed a number to them.

Google or Facebook or anyother big tech never really conceals anything. If you know technical terminology in law then everything they do (and can do legally) is plainly in the ToS.
But ofcourse most people don't read ToS neither I think they care about it.
@mur2501 @strawberryfieldsforever i've noticed a pattern of reports about Facebook violating their own privacy policy.
@koherecoWatchdog @strawberryfieldsforever
Well violation depends upon the laws of the Country as well as how the judge interprets it.
@mur2501 @strawberryfieldsforever when they violate their own privacy policy, that's not breaking national laws; it's violating the contract. Google is more transparent & does this less than other #MACFANG corps.
@strawberryfieldsforever @mur2501 #Facebook will bluntly write "we do not share info X", and then get caught doing just that. So you can't trust Facebooks privacy policy or ToS. Google's is easier to trust, but once you read it you probably won't want to work with them anyway.
@mur2501 @strawberryfieldsforever #Google doesn't conceal that either.. it's right in their ToS that they can mine your email. If you look at gratis non- #MACFANG email services, inbox sizes are tiny compared to what Google offers. Google is happy to store on their servers as much email as you can get because that data has value.
