@tirifto
Well that's Linux, Gnu projects build it's OS upon the Linux kernel.
Parabola is derived from Arch.

@lbehm
Do you know how to install Bunsenlabs alongside windows?

What Operating System do you use?
(If Linux or BSD then which distros?)

RedHat: I provide the source code open and free, just you cannot use our name and other trademarks :blobcatsuit:

Oracle: I take Redhat source and recompile it with Oracle logo and trademarks as Oracle Linux :blobfoxcomfysmirk:

This is very great achievement for a small independent distro like Solus.

@HackerBean@noc.social
Actually seeing that they have to maintain their own packages for Solus (As Debian, Ubuntu, Arch packages will not work with Solus) they do have a very vast list of packages in their repo from basic compiler & libraries to Visual Studio Code, Chromium, etc

@HackerBean@noc.social
when I said old and obsolete, I meant the Gamit package which is intended to be compiled under c89 standard and basically uses old gcc and other compiler flags which aren't supported now.
GCC and all other components in Solus are very up-to-date.

@HackerBean@noc.social
ahh yes Solus if build from scratch upon the linux kernel so it is not compatible with other distros hence can't use their packages.
Compiling from source is no problem but the package seems (Gnome has removed it's source distribution packge from it's website) old and obsolute so the flags it uses for compilation are are not accepted by the modern gcc.

@HackerBean@noc.social
Ahh no I am not too much into linux technicalities yet. Probably I will shift to ElementaryOS when I am totally done with Solus.
Apart from the limited packages in the repo(Though it has Snap and Flathub for giving wider options to install) and some few problems. Solus works very nicely and I especially like the fact that my potato runs so smooth with dozens of heavy apps running.

@HackerBean@noc.social
only If I would be using a Ubuntu or Debian based distro to have everything in the repo.
My distro is Solus, it only has very basic packages in repo. I have to compike everthing from source.

@hj
Yes we can replace stop job with blow job in the next kernel update - Linux Dev

@realcaseyrollins
I just today only switched off the Fast Boot of Windows to give write permissions to my linux partition

Can anyone here tell me about the Gamin library or package in Linux?
