This kind of “sound business decision” is letting people die. It sure isn’t as striking as pogroms, extermination camps and gulags, but unlike them, it’s still ongoing and there’s no worldwide alliance against these deadly decisions about access to water, food and healthcare.

This should horrify all of us.

It's going to be a much warmer week in Florida, so I took the goat's coats off for now. Violet was easy, Rose not so much as she pulls me right out of my wheelchair!

It's a new day and a new week and also today I'm gonna talk about #SchoolForAfrica because you all know how very important good education is right?

It's mandetory for us and we tend to forget or even dislike the fact we can go to school to get ready for the 'grown up life'. Many kids in #Africa, #Kenya don't have those basic needs...

We want to change that bit by bit with the SchoolForAfrica project.

Please donate and share with your friends and family❤️ :stux:

Shower thoughts - mention of menstruation

Similarly, people with uterus have been told for centuries that they're delicate creatures who don't risk a thing because they don't/didn't have to go to war, to work etc... While completely missing the fact that, sometines/often, the biggest threat and danger lived with the aforementioned people with uterus -> thanks to your period you're healthy, but it causes you so much pain and embarassment (because of the stigma) and discomfort.

Shower thoughts - mention of menstruation

Of course when you're showering you feel like illuminated being when weird-ass thoughts come to mind.
Today's weird-ass thought: people's period is really a metaphor of the life of people with uterus; there's a high chance you're going to regularly suffer for something you didn't ask for, while at the same time being told to chin up and be grateful, because you're the healthiest and most protected human being in the world compared to people without uterus

Kenya’s Education Cabinet secretary has directed all public schools to accept learners from private schools. This after many parents have suffered financial constraints after the effects of Covid-19, and therefore can’t afford to secure their learners to private schools anymore. Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of Dr Ida Odinga Library, Research, Innovation and Resource Center at Ogande Girls High School in Homa Bay, Magoha warned principals against sending pupils home for school fees.

He noted that many parents are having financial difficulties due to effects of Covid-19 thus lear ners should not be harassed over fees.

“To principals, do your homework before you send a student back home for school fees. We don’t want students to be sent home,” Magoha warned.

The CS assured parents that the Government will cater for protective gear of their children to prevent them from catching Covid-19.

He said the Government will develop modalities of identifying the needy students whose parents cannot afford masks.

“The masks will be given to pupils whose parents are truly unable to afford them. We know how we will identify them,” said Magoha.

He added that all learners must resume learning regardless of whether they are pregnant or not.null

“Pregnancy is not a disease. Let all pupils return to school in January and complete their studies,” Magoha added. The CS assured parents that the Government will deliver desks whose tender was awarded to various carpenters at a cost of Sh1.9 billion, by January 4. This is aimed at ensuring social distancing in schools.

Job losses and reduced income owing to Covid-19 are forcing parents transfer of learners from high cost private schools to public institutions even as they brace themselves to pay fees, buy school uniforms and Covid-19 protecive gear.

A number of private schools have also shut down due to effects of the pandemic.
