Probably he said that Mrs Doubtfires was about a father loving their children (so a good message), while the "drag queen story hour" has the hidden agenda of "sexualizing innocent children". But after this, I lost the plot, because there were only offenses.
My opinion is that west culture is at risk, because we are exposing our self and our children, through TV, smartphone etc..., to a lot of bad messages and false values. They hope we consume more junk food, we have more promiscuous sex, product consumism, etc... They want us weak. They want us as impulsive shopper.
We are poison our self, permitting to commercial entities to dominate the culture.
So if I'm scared from a drag queen reading a book few times in a year, I should be enormously more scared from all other danger messages in every hour of the day and night. Or I should be scared by a bad permanent teacher.
I assume also that politics want these wars between men and women, transgender activist and traditional value families, etc... because in this way they can follow their important politics, simply differentiating on these "useless" things.

@freemo ok, if the queer are failing with the children, we can go in tour together explaining to the children the hundred occasions when the "portable car toilet" can be useful. The word "poop" cannot fail with the children 🙂

Summing up, I'm not scared of anybody interacting with children, if he/she is genuine. The world is made of diversity and the more they see, the better is for their mind/knowledge.
I'm only scared of people with a political agenda, that want to mess with the children.
If queers want to show up to children with their personality, joy and they want to read funny books, I'm happy. In worst case scenario, it is a lot better of many shows on TV with violence and monsters 🙂
If doing so, they implicitly want to reduce the future complications of some child that growing up, discover that he/she has gender/sex "problems", then this is useful.
If their main plan is to instill in children doubts about sex and gender, then I don't agree.

@freemo but I think that a modern drag queen reading books to kids is likely that she is doing some sort of "political action"/propaganda.
If there is a drag-queen who is a normal teacher, with her character and attitude, no problem. This can be also very formative for the kids, because this open their minds.
But if there is a political agenda, and the drag queen teacher go only from class to class for instilling doubts in the children, then I can be suspicious, and I don't like it.
Mrs Doubtfire was not about a teacher instilling gender/sex related doubts in the children, but he/she was a normal/funny person.

@hwpplayer1 SBCL is probably a better choice because it is the most used CL implementation: produce the faster code; good error messages; rather advanced type annotations; etc...
CL has many different implementations, but until you are not an expert, you can stick with the most used one.

I rarely use the "Local" section, because there are too much people and STEM subjects. So I think that Mastodon is not the right tool for creating focused communities, in case of large instances.
So the idea of @freemo can be pursued, but using other tools and approach respect a distinct Mastodon instance.

@hwpplayer1 My personal suggestion: Common Lisp because despite it is a little strange initially, it is a very fun language to use, thanks to Its interactive and live dev-environment.
If you want to learn and maybe "earn", then also Clojure, because it is moderately interactive, but you can use it on the JVM.
Initially follow a book.

@kyo Maybe not your case, but it is incredible how many OS errors are instead caused by bad DRAM chips that corrupted something in the disks. They are not easily replicable.
@freemo @Theraviranjankr yes I agree, but I think that a more interesting lesson of the toot was that we live in a world where apparently you have repeatable/constant events , so it seems a conservative world. But at a different level of observation, nothing is fixed/constant/absolute.
Life is possible only because there are repeatable patterns, but life is also constantly evolving because everything changes. It is the paradox of the clock face: it seems fixed, but it is moving. It is the paradox of politics: you can defend traditions, but at a larger time-frame, things had to change.
