I love #mastodon / #fediverse communities, and I am 100% set on not moving onto the next VC-backed walled-garden…
With that said, I can see a time where I (and probably a lot of the people I enjoy reading) will tire of how maladapted these tools are and stop logging on.
I get it: *you* don't like algorithmically-curated feeds (or QT, or whatever other feature deemed too "commercial")… But without it, any feed quickly becomes tedious and repetitive.
@deivudesu Someone told me that Mastodon might be getting QT (although, I don't know a whole lot about that).
Some other fediverse systems already have it.
I use QT a lot (particularly to throw around casual opinions about anime) and to quote my own past posts.
I suppose QT is kind of like the bird site (which no one really likes).
