Ok, I understood your point and I disagree. I put personal freedom above everything else you mentioned. To put morals, ethicts, nation above a personal freedom looks like USSR to me, where a person was expected to live in service of a political party. I was born in USSR and some people I know would like to bring it back, but I don't like the idea.
Also, who says what's moral, ethical and in nation's interests? In other words, who defines what personal freedoms can be taken away today? Is it religion, or is it a party, a government? I believe people in power often abuse that power, given the chance.
