Anyone got any suggestions for someone who went through a data science boot camp? Seems like every job requires a postgrad degree and all the intro jobs have university pipelines.

@FeyTechnologist I don't claim any expertise on how industry works, but I get the idea that a lot of "requirements" for jobs are really wish lists. Apply widely -- you never know what might happen.

Also, I suspect a GitHub repository of projects you've done will carry some weight. Anybody can claim they worked through an online course or boot camp and understood it, but the proof is in the pudding.

@peterdrake
From what I can tell the wishlist thing is more Eng roles than DS roles. I think a lot of places are being super (unnecessarily) picky and haven't caught up to the fact that's bad for hiring/diversity like Eng has.
Person I'm asking for has a github portfolio, tricky part is getting someone to actually look at it when they're getting auto rejected for no reason

@FeyTechnologist Yeah, I've heard that optimizing your LinkedIn profile for algorithms is what it's all about.
