@Madagascar_Sky Do you have one you prefer? I'd like to have different windows in different colors, for when I have both a local terminal and one sshed into another machine.

@peterdrake

I use Black Box because it's flatpak and it's better than the default one.

If you want the elementary one, you'll have to manually install it, they don't flatpak it. You could roll a flatpak on your own, but no documentation.

Git: - github.com/elementary/terminal

I don't know if any of them do different colour windows though they do support theming.

@Madagascar_Sky I'm not familiar with flatpak -- haven't run Linux in quite a while. What's the TLDR?

Also, what if you DO want to send a ctrl-c to the terminal?

@peterdrake
Containers for graphical apps. They are separated from the main systems. You can choke their permissions quite well like network access and file access. But it's not a security solution as much as a distribution system. It brings it's own libraries so teams can build one version and be done. Competitors - Snap (Cannonical) and Appimage.

As usual, it terminates the running program.

@Madagascar_Sky Thanks.

On the second point, I'm asking how you send ctrl-c to the terminal if ctrl-c bound to copy.

@peterdrake

If you select something, then ctrl-c acts as copy, otherwise it sends the terminate signal.

@peterdrake
Yeah, it's nice to see the UI/UX people come into the linux world. It's become quite comfy since.

@Madagascar_Sky Hmm. I installed BlackBox and it behaves the same way as the default terminal (ctrl-c is not copy).

@Madagascar_Sky Yeah, that's the one. If I highlight something with the mouse and hit ctrl-c, it sends the ctrl-c directly to the terminal.

I realize I haven't rebooted since I installed it. I'll try that later today. All computer problems are solved by turning it off and back on again, right?

@Madagascar_Sky I don't know, but in the shell whence I launched it it keeps saying:

(blackbox:2): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 14:50:49.637: _gtk_css_corner_value_get_y: assertion 'corner->class == &GTK_CSS_VALUE_CORNER' failed

A web search on this turns up no hits at all.

@peterdrake

Yeah, I can't replicate that. I guess you'll have to stick to your solution.
