@mrcompletely I was surprised because office-supply-grade fineliners and mechanical pencils seemed to work fine for drawing (at least at my level).

@peterdrake sadly I have found this to be universally true in art materials aside from canvas. Papers make a huge difference. Copic markers were a revelation. Etc
