Q: Why can’t programmers tell the difference between Halloween and Christmas?

A: Because oct 31 = dec 25.

The popular image of ninjas dressed in all-black costumes comes from kuroko — stagehands in traditional Japanese theatre who wore black to stay hidden from the audience.

@SecondJon According to wikipedia, that is accurate: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_soli

Trump's statement that we are the only country in the world with birthright citizenship is blatantly false, as is typical of him.

TRUMP: "I've decided to eat babies."

PEOPLE: "He can't eat babies, that's super illegal."

TRUMP, on TV, eating babies, not even cooking them first: "People are saying that I really am the best baby-eater, folks."

.@realDonaldTrump@twitter.com wants to alter the definition of citizenship by executive order. @LindseyGrahamSC@twitter.com wants to do it by legislation. This is the attempt at a killing blow against democracy. VOTE NOW OR IT MAY BE YOUR LAST CHANCE.

“We don’t need a blockchain for this, Steven!”

Cormen et al. claims that A(4, 1) is "a huge number" beyond anything one would realistically encounter, but according to both Wikipedia and Wolfram Alpha it's only 65,533.

It turns out just about every country in the Americas has birthright citizen ship, but few others do. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_soli

HIVE MIND:

Like many of you, I have had my landline rendered useless by a constant assault of telemarketers and phone frauds. (I have a landline because @verizon@twitter.com has lousy coverage at my house.)

Most of these calls hang up when they get the answering machine. I therefore never answer unless someone gets that far. ("Hello? It's <actualperson I know>. Are you there?")

Still, the ringing is annoying. Is there a way to turn OFF the ringer, but leave sound ON so that I might be able to pick in response to legitimate calls?

I'm not above buying a new phone to get this feature. I'd rather not pay a monthly fee for caller ID (which wouldn't solve the problem).

Ideas?
