I'm contemplating getting someone introductory books about 3D printing and 3D modeling in Blender. The recipient has a lot of experience with art and some with coding. Suggestions?
@migdol It wouldn't be visible from here, but there used to be a TARDIS-shaped little free library half a block away. It burned down recently, but they're planning to rebuild.

Apparently, on some other servers (e.g., @stux 's mstdn.social, using 4.0.2), you *can* see boosts in lists, even if you're not following the person being boosted.
Specifically: @htdrake and I follow each other and have each other in lists. If I boost something from user C (whom she does not follow), she sees it in her list including me. If she boosts something from D (whom I do not follow), I do NOT see the boost in my list including her. I would like to.
What are the odds of updating this on #qoto?
1. Remote Xmas with a friend.
2. Got new jeans that fit properly.
3. Homemade cinnamon rolls.
"...slashing fares on the Amtrak Cascades line by as much as 30%. Starting next week you can buy a train ticket between Portland and Eugene (110 miles south) for just $17 — that’s cheaper than taking the bus! The new fares apply to all Oregon stops including Oregon City, Salem, and Albany."
@bethsawin @KLB My understanding is that the lever works, but I very much doubt that it creates enough pressure to trim a nail.
I also presume the file cannot be rotated out.

Yes, it's done from a single piece of paper. There are videos of the designer folding one.
There’s a wind storm around, so today I’m thankful for reclosers, one of my favorite parts of electrical infrastructure.
Reclosers are part of the electrical distribution system, the “medium size” electrical network that bridges between the big steel tower 400,000 volt world of electrical transmission and the happy little 110v power in your home. They’re like the circuit breakers that turn your power off if something bad happens to your home wires, but have a special trick up their sleeves.
