I got mixed up and sent my grant proposal to my publisher and my science-fiction manuscript to the funding board.

They both got approved.

So now I have to write a novel about eel migration and build a fleet of telepathic robot crabs that fight climate change with lasers.

Me: I never owned a Nintendo system before the Wii, so I'm not really familiar with the Zelda or Mario franchises. I mean, except for the original Donkey Kong.

Student: Like on the 64?

Me: No! In an arcade! With quarters!

The instructions for today's #origami fold-a-day calendar are bizarre. If you're going to use a ruler anyway, why break out the dollar bill.

Decide for yourself how bothered you are that some of the models require a ruler, scissors, or tape.

I always thought of that as "pretend this component isn't here" rather than "don't call these specific methods", but I guess it amounts to the same thing.
