Hey, tooters.
I'm looking for an #artist with expertise in #BotanicalIllustration. We'd like to commission one that we can use for postcards and what not.
You know what I love about the fedi? All of the super cool niche "weird" (in the nicest way possible) folks are here. Do your thing! 😉
#gamedev Learning:
1. Having No Sound in your game is OK until you add the first one. At this moment it gets heavily obvious that sound is missing while it was not such much before.
2. Finding good sounds (which fit to your game) takes forever!
3. zapsplat.com is nice.
@trinsec As in many domains, I like to start with a clever title and then do nothing else.
This looks bad for Unity's "charity" exception to the install fee. They have the power to decide what is a "valid" charity.
The first game for our S weeks was one I had not played before, Stone Age.
My Agricola instincts served me well: expand your tribe/family as quickly as possible to get more actions and prioritize getting an efficient way to feed them via agriculture/cooking hearth. I then loaded up on civilization cards that granted many, many victory points for the same.
The final shellacking I administered? 211 vs. 139 vs. 110.
I immediately added Stone Age to my wish list. Ha!
@jameswallis Peter Cushing:
Huge impacts on #TTRPG play we often miss inRPG design chats.
On par, in over for someone *to feel* like it is "fair" even odds [50/50, 1 in 2] then the actual odds need to be 2 in 3 in their favor.
Our collective obsession with "true" statistics is directly at odds with play.
Dear Fediverse:
I'm wanting to reach out to #gaming fans who have personal challenges that make some - or many - games difficult to access for them.
Visual acuity issues. Hearing loss. Dyslexia, or missing limbs or anything else.
I'm planning an article on accessibility features in video games, and would love to hear stories from people for whom those features aren't merely a convenience, but necessary for them to be able to participate in the hobby.
I'd appreciate help reaching out on this.
Listening to the rules explanation of #Calico: Oh, what a cozy game!
Immediately upon starting to choose your first move: Ah.
And where are they now, the little meeples of Stone Age? #BoardGames #SpinalTap
