It drives me up the wall when people argue “Europe was built before cars" as a reason Europeans can support biking better than the US. On its face it doesn't make sense—we have *much* wider roads to reclaim for better uses, for instance. More, it’s ahistorical—many European cities were taken over by cars before they reclaimed space.
