"I hope this email finds you well"
- trite
- boring
- if i were doing well i wouldn't be reading email

"This email has found you."
- always true
- deeply ominous
- implies more emails might also find me, which i am suddenly quite worried about

Writing about US food the way the NYT covers Asian fruit: In a nation torn by racial conflict, one unlikely food unites. To those accustomed to chopsticks, the greasy parcel known as a 'burger', a sort of split bao, is crude and messy. Yet it encapsulates a nation's violent past.

It sometimes gets taken for granted that Republicans only get **5-10%** of the Black vote. You almost never see margins like that in American politics. Here's a great @ClareMalone piece on the history of the GOP's relationship with Black voters: https://twitter.com/ClareMalone/status/1275788274515283969
