I asked the players in my upcoming #FateCore space campaign to tell me about their ship. One suggested a converted wet navy freighter, echoing the Yamato. I proposed a #submarine, which would open up the possibility of underwater adventures. Of course, since "down" would now be the stern of the ship rather than the ventral side, some interior redecoration is in order...
Naturally, @nyrath has already passed through this territory:
Faced with the choice of
- fighting through a pile of poorly-documented, unstable software, or
- fighting through all of that *plus* seven layers of capitalism (do you have a license? here's an ad! do you have a deluxe license? can you prove it? you won't believe what's on the other end of this link! here's another ad! AD!),
... I'm starting to feel the pull of FOSS.
@freemo Weird bonus: *my* markdown bullets work, but not the ones in the aforementioned post from mstdn.social. 🤷♂️
@freemo Two more display problems:
- Bullets from markdown lists don't appear (Firefox or Tusky)
- Banner in profile is partially cut off (Firefox)
This seems to be a qoto thing, because (for example) this toot and the user's profile look correct when viewed from their own instance:
One of my current quests is for resources to help non-IT folks become better at defining system #requirements and #UAT #test scenarios. It seems like there must be something out there, but the correct buzzwords are eluding me.
A good resource would probably consider things like:
Primer on testing vocabulary / methods
How do you know your tests cover the full problem space? And with the fewest possible tests?
How do you know when you have tested enough?
Grades handed in, now living in the fantasy world where I get all of my classes prepared over the summer and won't be frantically preparing lesson plans right before class.
If you want to create something but you've run out of creative juices, here are some doodle pattern ideas. Get a small piece of paper, pick one, and fill the page with it. Experiment with different colours and line thickness, see what you come up with. It's about the process, not the end result - have fun and let it flow ^.^
I found this article to be personally relevant.
My parents had to slip over the border for their wedding. At the time, "mix-race" marriage was illegal in the state of Virginia.
