It's great that we might get #RankedChoiceVoting / #InstantRunoffVoting for future Portland elections. It would be nice if we had them for this year's #oregon governor's race, which has a Democrat, a Republican, and an "independent".
In addition to solving the "spoiler problem", RCV would answer the eternal question of third parties: are we what everyone wants (but they vote strategically out of fear), or are we a fringe?
#2662 Physics Safety Tip
In general, avoid exposure to any temperatures, pressures, particle energies, or states of matter that physicists think are neat.

Sure, climate-change-induced droughts are going to be hard on agriculture, but there's a lot of meat on an Arrakeen sandworm. Just sayin'.
It gets even weirder when I leave the search bar empty: 30 items, and they're all unicorn themed. Huh?
I must be missing something, because it looks like the Google Play store is telling me there are only 12 RPGs for #Android. No infinite scroll, no next page, just these 12 items.
@htdrake is considering getting an Instant Pot, but that sounds like too much work. I want a Retro Pot.
I played the Android game "80 Days". It was well-written, but far too choose-your-own-adventure for my tastes. I don't like it when the way to win is not cleverness but blindly and exhaustively exploring the game tree. (I'm also far too impatient to enjoy travel.)
I will soon be tasked with writing a mobile adventure game and am worried that I can't recall ever liking one.
For the past few years, I’ve maintained a list of space opera novels by cisgender women, trans, and non-binary authors. You can find the list right here:

There’s also a way to suggest works that are missing. It’s a growing, incomplete list!
Enjoy!
Session 6 of my #FateCore space campaign.
With an asteroid on a collision course with the planet Fía, our heroes decide to have Susan build a bomb to deflect it. That requires obtaining some narthonium from Edgelord Grimdark's fleet. They contact Amaris's nephew Kai and Evelyn's son Vaylen, who are Spacer Recruits on the cruiser Flanders Bugaboo. Directed by Hans and driven by the promise of a trip to a bar to meet Katsan's cousins, the boys find a magnetic jar in the closet, dispense the narthonium (which looks like purple, glitter-filled soft serve ice cream) into it, and eject themselves out the garbage chute.
Umara, leader of the Telkine mermechs, brings the Stella Sciuri down to pick up the party. Katerina Flugeldorp, the local representative of the Charybdis crime family, wants Hans to take advantage of the impending mud tsunami to steal some enormous jade statues from the local museum, but he refuses, consequences be damned.
On the way to pick up the boys, the crew is warned to stay away from Patriarchy-military-controlled space. They skirt the edge of it and send Umara to grab the boys.
The crew plants the bomb and diverts the asteroid toward the Purity, Grimdark's flagship. The Patriarchy fleet deals with the asteroid with minimal damage. Boarded and questioned by the Patriarchy, the crew pins the attack on Dr. Terence Leary, who they claim blew up himself and his illegal animal creations.
The boys, now wanted as deserters, are given new identities as a hitman and a paralegal and new names Strykker and Bear. They are dropped off at the bar for a date with Katsan's twin cousins Orangejello and Lemonjello.
All that remains is to return the Telkines to their homeworld of Ceto and help them liberate it. The party comes to the grim realization that there is no resistance to contact; they are it.
Lines:
"If you save a planet, you'll probably get free college."
"Do you want to split the party?"
"I've lost enough limbs. I'll be fine."
"Anyone want to make a run to Space Target?"
"I guess being a hitman is kind of boring."
At this point I'll be handing off GMing duties to one of the other players and focusing on playing Susan, the passive-aggressive uplifted capybara.
Who decided to call it a "mobile device" when "port-a-puter" was right there?
