Pretty cool if the #Portland Bureau of Transportation to send us this “welcome to the city” package full of information on resources to get around without a car.

You can call "completion hangup" a flaw or you can call "committing to the bit" a superpower.

"...slashing fares on the Amtrak Cascades line by as much as 30%. Starting next week you can buy a train ticket between Portland and Eugene (110 miles south) for just $17 — that’s cheaper than taking the bus! The new fares apply to all Oregon stops including Oregon City, Salem, and Albany."

There’s a wind storm around, so today I’m thankful for reclosers, one of my favorite parts of electrical infrastructure.

Reclosers are part of the electrical distribution system, the “medium size” electrical network that bridges between the big steel tower 400,000 volt world of electrical transmission and the happy little 110v power in your home. They’re like the circuit breakers that turn your power off if something bad happens to your home wires, but have a special trick up their sleeves.

"It's hard to imagine a machine learning engineer who doesn't use Python. So, if you've waited for the right moment to start learning Python, this is that moment."

1. Successful shopping trip.
2. Power held up through the storm.
3. Got in a game of Parks.

Best video games I've played this year? Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Opus Magnum.

@htdrake: That was an astute observation.

Me: *gasp* Does that make ME the greatest detective in the world?

In mystery movies, characters are always gushing, "You're the greatest detective in the world!"

How do detectives get famous? Can anyone name the greatest real-life detective in the world right now? Or, like, any detective?

1. Completed (with an asterisk) the last mission in Fast & Furious: Highway Heist.
2. My new clubs and torches arrived. Alas, it's too rainy to practice outside and the ceilings are too low to practice inside.
3. Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr continues to ramp up at a satisfying pace.

I have made my last attempt to enjoy 7th Continent.

I very much wanted to like it. A co-op exploration adventure! With hundreds of beautiful cards! That reward your close examination! And a custom soundtrack to perfectly set the mood!

Unfortunately, the game play was too frustrating for me. How so?

Our dogs got toys for Christmas, as usual. Leo wasted no time removing the squeaker from his. But I was quite surprised to find a message hidden inside the toy. #Christmas #dogsOfMastodon

We pulled off a "cheat win" in our first attempt of the Chopper Takedown scenario of Fast & Furious: Highway Heist. We realized too late that one or possibly two of our hits on the chopper didn't begin in a legal space. D'oh!

Dom in the American Muscle and Tej in the Exotic Supercar definitely seemed like the right way to go for two players, though. Defense all the way.
